Touristic Card

For your vacation in the Dominican Republic, the Dominican law requires you to have a passport or your identity card among you. But still it is better if you have a passport, because there have been some problems with people that only traveled with their Identity card (allthough the law authorized it) also just like in any other country if you misbehave it can cause trouble.

For the French, Swiss, Belgians, Canadians, Spanish or any other tourists it is necessary to obtain a Touristic Card witch costs 10$US it is necessary to have this card if you stay a maximum of 15 days, the card is extensible for 90 days with a surtax of 300 pesos.

!!Attention, if you only have Euros, the prices for the tourist card are the same in euros (example 10$US = 10€)!!

NB:Most of the time the Touristic Card is included in the Flight ticket, please ask your Travel agency or Tour operater.

You can also obtain this Touristic Card from the Dominican embassy in your country or at your arrival at the airport with you passport in hand (or identity card) valid during you stay. On your departure there is a Tax of 20$US asked from you.
